Karen has over 30 years of experience in health and welfare benefits. Karen spends most of her time working on solutions for large, complex clients with multi-state populations. She specializes in key national and select middle market accounts. Karen currently works on a variety of clients including Union Square Hospitality Group, Consigli Construction, and the Alera Group employee benefits plans for our own staff. Her fellow team members comment on Karen’s dedication, reliability, and straightforward communications.

Karen started her career at Johnson & Higgins of California and later transferred to Johnson & Higgins of Connecticut. Karen later redirected her focus from consulting to working in the employee benefits department for a regional insurance agency. Karen gained invaluable insight from her time spent in a human resources role. That perspective provided Karen with a new (and nuanced) understanding of the challenges faced by human resources professionals.

Karen earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of San Francisco. She holds a Connecticut Life and Health License and earned accreditation as a Certified Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Professional from the National Association of Health Underwriters.

In her time away from work, Karen enjoys traveling to new places and always experiencing an adventure or two along the way. Additionally, Karen cherishes the time she spends with her three beloved grandchildren.
